“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15
There’s a radio ad I hear several times a week that starts by saying, “Tomorrow is promised to no man.” It’s true that at least the tomorrow on this earth is not a guarantee. However eternity in God’s Kingdom (including tomorrow) is a promise from God to all who trust Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to read and study through Jesus’ words to His disciples in Matthew 5-7, and allow God to help you rethink you life in the light of eternity. We have this life only to reach people for Him.
Every life is a very brief spot in what we call time. Here, lived and gone. None of us have a guarantee of the exact amount of days we have left to serve Jesus here. But we can all be determined to serve Him well in the time we do have.
